Supporting Youth Involved in the Justice System: At Restore Child and Youth Care, we understand that some children and youth may become involved with the legal system. As part of our commitment to holistic care, we offer legal support services for youth who may be facing criminal charges or legal challenges.
We collaborate closely with a dedicated lawyer who has extensive experience in Indigenous law and a deep understanding of the systemic issues that impact Indigenous youth in the justice system. This partnership allows us to provide:
- Confidential legal guidance tailored to each youth's situation
- Advocacy in court and support through legal processes
- Culturally Informed legal representation that respects and incorporates Indigenous values and teachings
- Collaborative planning with caseworkers and guardians to ensure the youth’s rights and well-being are protected throughout
This additional service can be discussed on a case-by-case basis and is available to youth in our care who require legal support. Our goal is to ensure every young person feels heard, protected, and empowered as they navigate the justice system.
